COMSTECH OIC Internship Participants Visited PT Kalbio Global Medika

COMSTECH OIC is the Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. COMSTECH OIC was established on January 1981. COMSTECH OIC holds the internship program for the students or scholars who are the citizens of OIC member states. This internship program aimed to enhance research and development capacity of OIC member state scientists in the field of virology and vaccine technology.

Regarding to this internship program, all students or scholars joined the preparation meeting from 29 Aug 2022 to 04 Oct 2022 in several cities, including Jakarta, Cikarang, Bandung, and Surabaya. One of the agenda of this preparation meeting is factory visit to several biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, including PT Kalbio Global Medika (KGM) at Cikarang which was held on 01 Sep 2022.

During the factory visit, we explained our KGBIO Group Company Profile and KGM Company Profile. Then, they are invited to see our production facilities of API and formulation-filling-and-finish, and our R&D facilities. The visit was accompanied by Director General of Multilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and attended by Director of Sociocultural and OINB, Director of Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution, Director of Operations Bio Farma, Assistant Deputy for Health Industry, Ministry of State Owned Enterprises and Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation Padjajaran University (UNPAD).

COMSTECH OIC Internship participants were explained of upstream process using bioreactor at KGM during the factory visit. KGM currently has two 50 L Bioreactors and will expand the capacity to 1000 L next year.
